University bugs, scared to keep playing

Hi guys,
Haven’t been on here for ages. So I got Discover University. Decided to try it out with a non important sim in case there were game breaking bugs. Went to the modern university, everything was going fine, no bugs. So then I enrolled my main sim at the moment, to Britchester or whatever it’s called. Was going okay until one day she goes to do classes and a bunch of sims are standing outside the lecture hall waving that they can’t move. Then I can’t click on the ground to move my sim. THEN I see all the floating windows. I don’t use the dorms, and I can fast travel my sim to other parts of the university, and she can also attend class if I don’t follow her to the university. She’s halfway through her degree.
I have restarted the game, cleared the cache and repaired the game (twice) but the bug is still there. Thoughts?

If restarting the computer and clearing the cache didn’t work, maybe try lowering the graphics options? If you take your sim to a community lot in another neighborhood, do you still see the same behavior?

Not sure what else to try ...

If after lowering the graphics and traveling to a different community lot, the issue of the floating windows remain, try updating your graphics drivers.

If that doesn't help, and your computer has dual graphics. Make sure it's running on the dedicated graphics card.

Sadly the patch that came out just before Discover University introduced some game breaking bugs...which is what you seem to have encountered in your game.
Some of the more severe bugs do break lots and so all you can do is quit to main menu without saving and then delete the save from your Saves folder. However have a read through the general Bugs Section of the Bug Forum https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/bd-p/The-Sims-4-Bugs before doing anything in particular as you'll know what bug you have after reading through the bug reports better than I could guess from two screenshots.

Perhaps in your case you could save your Sims through the Manage Households menu and place them into a new game. In which case any credits towards their degree they have already completed should save with them.

Checked the graphics card etc, that was all fine and updated. The newest patch didn’t fix it, either. I just moved her into an older save, that seems to be working fine. She was a 5 star celebrity sim with pretty much  the whole world as her friends. Luckily she has traits and perks so she starts with a high friendship level when making new friends
