Sims 3 pets ps3

I have the sims 3 pets edition game for ps3. I am trying to figure out how to add the stairs to my deck but so far no luck. The stair either show the indoor stairs which I do not need or they make an indent into the ground instead of attaching itself to the deck.

I play the pc version, but this might work for the PS3 edition. Place free wood flooring down where you want the stairs outside to see if the stairs will place without indenting into the ground.

That's what I do with the pc version and it works well.
