It has not always been the case. My sims have previously always started with maximum YA days (and i play with aging on).

Note for challenge team- If the devs are trying to pull the wool over everyones eyes, so to speak and claiming this is "intentional"- For all the challenges played in 2017 and 2018 by the challenge team people always finished on the exact same day before. Now, if this is "intended" some people will have more days than others in challenges, therefore may need to consider adding a rule for 2019 season to allow people to reset to maximum days at start of challenge file.

It may be 'normal' now for newly created sims to have 2 days added to their age right out of CAS but I can tell you (along with all the challenge players) that this was not how it used to be. It's been a while since I have made a new sim as I tend to play test everything with my one fav sims...but the last time I made a new sim (many patches ago) he was a brand new minted Young Adult with no days on his clock.

My sims have always started with a random number of days added to the age bar
For me, this has only ever been the case if I had aging enabled. When disabled, the aging bar has never showed any progress. I believe the change in this is what is confusing people now.
Ah, that could be it. I've never created a new sim with aging disabled, so I wouldn't know what that's supposed to look like.

Not sure this is "solved"- people have reported that they lose a few days when they blow out candles on a birthday cake too and transition from YA to A say. So they stopped the " continuous aging" part but have created a new issue?

IMO it is only mostly fixed. I too have seen aging after cake aging. Plus New sims are slightly pre-aged. Better then before but still an issue.

I don't think the issue is fully fixed either. I normally play with aging off. So I too expect to see no aging on the age bar, specially when playing with aging off.

I've created a few different Sims over the last few days and each had been aged at least a day or two.  It seems that part may be the new normal according to some, but we won't fully know unless the devs say something official.

There are a few reporting more aging issues, so there's definitely something still not quite right.

All the sims I've created have been starting with different ages since the patch that fixed the CAS aging bug.  They differ by up to 3-4 days on normal lifespan.

This "bug" seems to be by design. However, there are still reports coming in about it.
