It Might be Possible to Move to Another Town!
« on: December 03, 2010, 11:56:34 AM »
When I was loading one of my games, I looked just in time too see a hint for a few seconds. All I saw was this: When Sims somethingsomethingsomething join hands in chain, somethingsomethingsomethingsomething Sunset Valley to Bridgeport somethingsomethingsomethingsomethingsomethingsomething
Has anyone else seen that hint? It looks like we can  move our sims between towns.

Actually, you've always been able to do that. Check out the Moving to a New Neighborhood Guide Article.

I believe you are referring to "If all sims joined hands in chain, the line would extend form sunset valley to bridgeport, ????" It's just a pointless hint.

I don't blame you. In fact I encountered something comparable: I got a notice when my sim was at home that one family has desided to move to another town. And that I may better hope that I haven't loaned them a book before they did.
Moving to another town within the same savefile? It might be possible, but I doubt it.

That's just a story progression thing.  When a family "moves out of town," they leave your town and you can't interact with them anymore.  They don't actually show up in Riverview or anything.

Okey! That's too bad than. It could be nice to link those towns together, making Sunset Valley a town, Riverview a farm industry and Bridgeport the growing economic and outgoing city.

It would be fun, I agree, but that's way too much of a load for the game to handle at this point.

I think it was:

If all the sims ever created joined hands they would stretch all the way from Sunset Valley to Bridgeport over one million times.

I guess it is just one of those random facts that EA make up for you to read while the game is loading.

That will be one hack of a lifetime wish: Meet everyone. Absolutely everyone. :P

Uhm... the good old loadscreens maybe? But well, that is not for us to decide of course. :)
