Frozen Game in Build Mode

Hello,

When I wanted to go from live mode to build mode it froze. The little loading wheel is turning and the music is playing but apart from that the game is completely unresponsive.
I‘ve read some other posts and have tried the Tipp,  that i should use shift and the f-keys to get to live mode or edit town and save the game. Sadly it didn’t work- does anyone have more ideas? I would really appreciate it, thank you!

You could try using pressing Alt-tab to get out of game temporarily to go to
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\CurrentGame.sims3

Copy this folder to the desktop as a way of saving a copy of the game.

Press Shift-Ctrl-Esc to bring up Task Manager and look for something like Sims 3 (32 bit) and right-click on it and select End Task. This will help exit the game.

Delete the game cache files.

Launch game again and test to see if the problem has cleared up.

I followed the steps and the game works again. It lost the last toddler aging up but that’s fine by me as long as it didn’t loose the kids completely- thanks 🙏
