How many packs can a Mac handle?
« on: December 25, 2018, 05:32:44 PM »
Hello,

I play Sims 4 on a 2015 MacBook air. I have three expansion packs, one game pack, and one stuff pack. My laptop seems to handle it okay; the few times I have bugs rebooting Origin/my computer or resetting sims have done the trick. However, since it's been running fine I'm tempted to purchase another expansion pack, but could this push me over the edge of what my Mac can handle? If you play on a MacBook/Macbook air, how many Eps have you successfully been able run? Am I at the limit? These are my specs:

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)
Processor 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB
24.6 GB Available space

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm pretty well versed in tips and tricks for running what I have on my MacBook, but I can't seem to find information about what people have been able to run on Macs in 2018 going forward with everything that's been released. Thanks!

Trying to run the game with only 4GB of memory has been known to be problematic due to the competition between who gets the memory. Operating system usually wins. That means less for the game to run and play with.

You may get better help with asking on the AHQ Sims Mac board.
