Social Media work from home assignment issue

My sim recently got promoted to "Niche Broadcaster" in the Internet Personality branch of the career. One of the promotion rewards was the ability to "broadcast status," which seems to have replaced the previous version of updating social media status. Unfortunately, the game is not treating "broadcast status" as a status update. I get tons of followers from it, but the "Update social network profile 2 times" assignment remains un-ticked. I've also tried creating memes, sharing jokes, checking in at locations, and anything else that looked vaguely like a social media post of some kind. None of these activities are counting toward this assignment, so my boss is unsatisfied with my work.

Is this a problem with this career, a weird bug I picked up for some reason, or am I missing something obvious?

If it turns out that it is a glitch then I guess you could always use the careers.promote socialmedia cheat just to clear that requirement/level.

I'm pretty sure that in the Social Media section on the computer, there's an option to Update Social Media Profile, or something like that. Doing that worked for me.

That's the button that's been replaced by "broadcast status."

You have to go to "More Options" -- I just looked and that's where I found it.

Wait, "more options" under the Social Media category, or the computer? I don't remember seeing a "more options" under social media. I'll go look again.

Hello, I have a new issue in this category. My sim is at level 4 of the Social Media career. She needs to go uptown and give a confident speech. I have her uptown at a lounge with a microphone and she is confident. When I click on the microphone, give a confident speech is not an option. Any advice?

@Shay you have to go to uptown area with the gym. There is a podium in front of the gym for speeches.
