If you have this bug in your game it's suggested not to play that save until there is a fix for it.

This bug has made it so I can't play a single save as every save has at least one sim fathered by father winter as I am into making perfect sims. This is the worst bug I have encountered in sims 4. This has made my preparations for Get Famous invalid. This bug killed my game. This is on top of the weird issues I experienced when I first downloaded the patch. Nice to know the fix - when it happens - will recover the lost sims... but only as long as you have not saved over the top of the game since.

Yes but by then I would have moved on, well except the ghost town. My collection of ghosts is difficult to replace. I just got death by lightning. It took days of real life play time to earn that one alone. This killed my game.

@scoed  I know, right. You definitely can not play any save that has father Winters kids in it if you want to retain them. There is no time line for the fix...it's "soon".
