Black (Dirty Appearance) counters when they go against the wall.
« on: February 18, 2018, 08:06:12 AM »
This is puzzling me, any counter I put against the wall anywhere in this house, the counter-top turns black, as an appearance of a dirty counter, its worse putting a counter in the corner.

I have tried:

 1. Putting Counter against other wall textures
 2. Testing them out around the house
 3. Selecting a different type of counter

This happens all hours of the day and night as well.

And this is the only house I've noticed this.

Wondering if this is a bug or anybody know why.

Did you tried putting a light over it? It looks like a shadow to me.

Hi @Spiderkeys

I just built a kitchen to show you.  I think that if counters are up against a wall no matter the time of day, that there is some shadow.  When, their in the middle of the room like an island would be, then, there's no shadow.

However, there seems to me to be less of a shadow when you don't put the counters directly against a wall.  Leave a very small space so it doesn't touch the wall.  To make a space between the wall and the counter hold down the ALT key with your left hand, and at the same time grab the counter with your left mouse button in your right hand and pull it forward very slightly.

the counter directly against the wall:

the counter alted

the space between the wall and the counter

I also agree that getting a brighter light will help, as well.

Just had this happen yesterday.  Had counter against the wall outside, but doesn't get used.  Thought it looked odd and when I pulled it away from wall, turned back to original color, which was a cream color.  The whole counter top looked dark.   Lights do not help, weird.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?
