Sims Constantly Emptying Trash
« on: August 19, 2018, 11:21:32 AM »
Hi everyone,

I've somewhat recently started playing TS4 again, and I have all the expansions and then parenthood, spa day, outdoor retreat, and kid's room stuff.

So I noticed early on that my sim, often after emptying a litter box or putting something in the trash, would then empty the home trash cans. This wasn't an issue until I built a proper home and there are 4+ trash cans and every time they throw ANYTHING away (including cleaning the toddler toilet), they go around to EACH trash can, take it out, go to the NEXT trash can, take IT out, and so on and so forth. It wastes real in game hours! These cans aren't even full! What can I do?

@TheNameIsWater

My sims live in a six-bedroom, six-bathroom house with one Nanocan wastebasket and one regular wastebasket (so the kids can earn a Scouting badge and one of the character values) plus an outdoor garbage can. Both the Nanocan and regular wastebasket are in the kitchen of the ranch-style house.
I've never had the issue you described.

You could buy the most expensive litter box that auto-zaps kitty poop and never needs to be emptied.
And maybe replace two of your four waste baskets with the $1,500 Nanocan which converts your trash to $$ and also never needs to be emptied.
Good luck and happy simming.

Pretty much the only solution is to not have indoor rubbish bins or to only have one and place it in a room that is close to where the outside one is so that the emptying only takes a few sims moments rather than hours.

...or to use the nano-trash can as oshizu suggested and delete all other bins including the outside one.

When I can afford it, I always get the trash zapper can & don't use any other can. I also try to intercept any plates, or whatever, before it becomes trash, and I drag it to the bin. You get more money, when your Sim doesn't consolidate the trash. You can also get free money, from the water glasses, that they seem to enjoy creating.
