I've got my sims kick back after a good 6 months! So here's a short update and some nice pictures!

First off, we almost had ANOTHER fire. I think I'm going to start keeping a fire count. Technically this one wasn't an actual fire, just a broken stove. I'm going to ban everyone but Ileana from the stove.

"I love you, my immortal son. Stay the heck out of my kitchen."

Leo's childhood has gone very well. He completed the Social Butterfly aspiration, he already has a good number of friends, and he's building charisma skill after maxing out the child social skill (not that I can remember what level he's at). Here he is with his good friend from school, blonde-girl-whose-name-I-can't-remember-but-it-starts-with-a-C.

Leo has also been working on his mischief skill, to the disdain of the rest of the household.

Miles often ends up being the butt of his jokes.

"I'm that female sim you invited over three days ago! I'm looking for child support! BOO!"

And soon, Leo's birthday arrives. Time for more cake!

Happy birthday, Leo!

He's very handsome! He aged up with a ponytail that I almost considered keeping, but I think he looks better with his little mohawk!

He picked up the self-assured trait, and his new aspiration is Friend of the World so we can try to get that out of the way early in the dynasty. I'm not sure what the second aspiration will be yet. Leader of the Pack would be an easy one, but since Leo is already doing well in the mischief skill and I won't want to do it again later, I think I might have him go for Chief of Mischief.

Yay! Welcome back!
Those broken stove fires look so terrifying. It always amazes me how blase sims are about them. "Oh, open flames? Gas leak? Guess I'll just keep eating my sandwich. *yawn*"
Leo is very handsome, indeed! Good call on the hairstyle. It looks great on him!
I find Friend of the World exhausting. I don't think I've done it since my dynasty founder over a year ago. I'm sure charismatic Leo will have no trouble with it, though. You can do it!

I hadn't realized that you had continued your story. So glad you have! I'm a bit behind but congratulations on Ileana being your first Immortal! Loving how Ryan grew up and is now also an Immortal-grats! Leo is a cutie and I'm looking forward to see what he gets up to.  :) The additions along the way to the dynasty house are lovely, it's always interesting to watch how the house changes over the generations.

Thanks both of you! Leo is such a cutie, I adore him!

Here's Leo's bedroom renovation:

Nothing too eventful happened until the weekend. Leo decided to throw a house party on Saturday. Aaaand we have that nice new party bug where some of the party tasks aren't registering, but with the tasks I completed it should have counted as a gold party. I kept track of which tasks I completed:
Host socializes 12 times (not registered)
Tell 2/3 jokes (can't remember which, but I did it) (registered)
Have 3 people drink (not registered)
Have 3 people dance (not registered)
Have sims kiss 3 times (registered) (thanks Ryan and Nadia!)

Here's a picture of 3 sims dancing!

Leo is already up to level 8 Mischief and I believe level 6 or 7 Charisma, so I tried to decide one what his third skill would be. Comedy would probably be a good one for him, but since we have Robbie the musical master in the house I've had him start to mentor Leo in the violin skill. As you can see, it's going excellently.

Robbie has also been teaching Ileana some music skills. They enjoy the occasional karaoke session.

Leo's been spending a lot of time in San Myshuno working on his social and mischief skills, as well as the Friend of the World and Chief of Mischief aspirations. He's already working on the last stage of the Chief of Mischief aspiration. Those poor San Myshuno residents are going to start avoiding him eventually.

Well, except for Grim... He seems to show up around San Myshuno a lot, checking to see if he'll be able to snatch Leo up before he gets a chance to cheat death like his father and grandmother.

Oh, and Leo has his eyes on a girl from his high school, Cassandra Lane! On Sunday we got gussied up for a date with her to visit the flea market and the karaoke bar.

Here she is! I think she's pretty cute! She isn't related to our old pollinator J or to our current pollinator Miles. She's just part of a game-generated household.

Sadly there was one slip-up where Cassandra rejected Leo pretty harshly when he tried to confess his crush right off the bat. And there were a few times she insulted him out of the blue because she has the mean trait...

But they ended up vibing a lot better as the day went on, and Leo scored a gold-medal date out of it (without any issues with tasks registering).

Their first kiss!!

And shortly after their first kiss, Cassandra aged up to a young adult. Darn it, Cassandra! No more flirting with her for a while.

Oh, and at that flea market Leo purchased an old voodoo doll.

And Grim appears again!! Leo isn't quite brave enough to try to practice voodoo on the Grim Reaper.

That's it for now! Leo has already gotten an A in high school, and is already almost complete bother of his unique aspirations. Things are going very smoothly! *knock on wood*

I tried doing the tranquilizing handshake on Grim once and it bugged my game right out! lol I think Leo's decision not to do voodoo on Grim was a good one.  :P

@Playalot  It's probably for the best that he doesn't push his limits  ;D
@LenaLJ  Thanks! I think she's a cute one!

Leo's teenage life is going well. He has an A in school, he's making great progress in his skills and aspirations, and he has tons of friends. At this point he makes friends with people just by greeting them.

Who better than a mad scientist to help you with your chemistry homework?

Here's a picture of our two immortals so far fishing, because I need to keep them occupied with something.

Leo is my favorite immortal so far (though I have a feeling I'll say that about each new one). He's just so obnoxious in the most charming way.

Soon came Otto, Robbie, and Miles' birthdays. First came Otto:

Then the next day, the twins:

I am honestly too lazy to change their outfits or anything. I've kind of lost inspiration for dressing male sims.  ::)

Leo threw a Black and White party to celebrate all of the birthdays (or so we'll claim), and again there was the party bug that made completing some party tasks impossible, but with what we completed it would be a gold (10 black and white conversations, 3 sims eating, 3 sims listening to classical music, 2 sims drinking Zebra Fizz, one black and white cake, and a partridge in a pear tree).

Then, a few days later, Nadia aged up!

So many broken backs, so little time.

We got a notice that the Humor and Hijinks Festival was in town, so I sent Leo off to celebrate. Immediately upon arrival, he got too close to a firecracker and came out a little singed. But he's a champ, so he still drank some dark tea and joined the Pranksters.

It was a good night! Thanks to all the havoc he caused, Leo maxed the Mischief skill and completed the Chief of Mischief aspiration! (Also, the pranksters won and Leo got some firecrackers and another voodoo doll for participating)

We also got a notice at midnight that it was Leo's birthday! So he went home to celebrate, and then it hit him: Wait, why not make this a birthday party for another gold medal?

Well, because nobody comes to your birthday party when you throw it at 2:30 am. Regardless, Ryan and Ileana helped make sure Leo got his gold medal for his party, and without any trouble from the party bug! He aged up at 5am with the sugar free carob cake in the fridge that was uneaten from Nadia's birthday, then promptly went to bed.

"Grandma, if you could stop breathing on my neck, that would be great."

Also, Leo picked up the "bro" trait, because it was just too fitting for me not to give it to him. I gave him a few new outfits, but kept that red leather jacket with the fish hoodie underneath because I really like it on him. I considered giving him facial hair, but I liked his clean-shaven baby face better.

Also, I received notice that I wasn't following the JPG-only images rule. Sorry!  :-[ I'll make sure to follow that in future posts!

Happy Birthday, Leo! The Bro trait is perfect for him!
Nice work maxing mischief! That festival is so helpful! And good job on the parties, especially despite your difficulties.
Now go get that cute redhead! She's ideal! Well, except for being mean, but I'm sure Leo can handle it. :)

We're back for as long as the Sims keeps my interest! We left off with Leo aging up to a young adult. I had him join the Politician career soon after on his computer, and his computer promptly burst into flames thanks to his incense burner. I always manage to forget what a hazard those things are...

Anyway, Leo came out (mostly) unharmed, and he started at level 3 as a Social Justice Worker. His cause is No Sim Left Behind. He got right into leading protests, persuading people to support his cause, giving speeches in Uptown...

Turns out Sims are very rarely interested in listening to Leo's speeches, despite his high charisma. They're far more interested in hearing him busk with his violin.

Leo has been gaining skills and climbing up the career ladder incredibly quickly. He has maxed out mischief, and he has level 8 charisma and violin skills. He joined the Charity Organizer branch of his career and is currently a Fundraising Specialist. It may have been more interesting to watch him become president, but it's been fun having him guilt his many friends into donating to No Sim Left Behind, then thanking them with a blowhorn to the ear. I just really enjoy Leo being a pest in general.

Leo and Cassandra are doing very well. He's even befriended her parents, who don't look a thing like her... Perhaps she's adopted.  ???
On Leo's day off, they went on a really nice date to a lounge to have some drinks and enjoy some music.

Later he took her out to the balcony and proposed...

...and she accepted! Thank goodness it went better than when he tried to confess his crush to her for the first time. We'll have to plan a wedding when the house isn't so full. *looks at Miles, Robbie, and Otto*

Leo brought Cassandra, Ryan, and Ileana out to a fancy dinner to break the news and celebrate. I meant for him to invite Nadia instead of Ileana... Oops.  ::) Well, it's still important for the head of the house to approve of the future heir's spouse choice.

And a few days later Leo brought Cassandra and her parents out to dinner as well after a day of bothering people for donations. As you can see, Cassandra appears to be an adopted child.

I can't remember her parents' names at the moment... But they'll be joining the household before long. Also, can we talk about Cassandra's formal wear? She's begging for a makeover... So... much... red...

Edit: Casandra's parents' names are Aubrey and Darius Lane!

As Leo returned home from dinner, I received a not-so-surprising surprise... Robbie, Miles, and Otto all simultaneously kicked the bucket. I guess they were waiting until I returned to the house.

Rest in peace, guys. Thanks for all the fish. And a special thanks to Miles and Robbie (mostly Miles) for pollinating the town with mustard-yellow haired children.
I'm gonna miss the twins.  :'(

( No picture of Otto because I didn't like him that much to begin with, honestly  ::) )
I'll have to update with how many children Miles and Robbie fathered... Although I'm not sure if I can find out now that they've died, and neither of them are related to the heirs. I counted Miles fairly recently and he was in the low twenties, but I can't remember exactly. Robbie had far fewer children.

@MarianT Thanks! I enjoy Casandra so far (which only has one "S" in it, it turns out!). I think she'll be a nice addition!

The family is currently trying to recover from three deaths by old age in one night. We're down to four sims in the house, which is pretty quiet compared to trying to manage 7. Managing 7-8 sims always feels hectic to me, since I don't typically play such large families in the Sims. On a positive note, when Casandra's family is added to the bunch the house will be nearly full again. On the down side, more deaths will be on the way. Casandra's father is an elder, and Nadia won't live forever either...

This was a great opportunity to redo the dynasty cemetery. I've expanded it, made it much prettier, and added Otto, Miles and Robbie. I think I'll add some more foliage later.

In the back row, from left to right, we have our helpers from Ileana's generation: Mitchell, J, Robbie, Zoe, and Miles. In the row in front, we have Otto, his mother Addyson, and what was a spot I saved for Nadia but later removed because she has another spot.
In the back of the cemetery, behind the benches, is an area saved for the spouses of the heirs. Currently Gavin is the only resident there, soon to be joined by Nadia..... No point in denying the inevitable.  ::)

The recent deaths in the family have been especially hard on Ryan, who grew up alongside the twins. He's been forced to face the reality that Nadia won't be immortal like he and his mother. He is dedicated to making the most out of every moment they have left together.

The house was just too quiet after all of those deaths, so we moved in Casandra and her parents. Somehow I failed to get a picture of them all together upon moving in! Here's a pic of Casandra, at least.

As for traits, Casandra is mean, an art lover, and non-committal. Not exactly the best combination of traits, but at least she doesn't hate kids. Her father, Darius, is a loner, romantic, and music lover. Her mother, Aubrey, is childish, a foodie, and a perfectionist. Aubrey is also Ryan's coworker and good friend! She's a lab technician. Darius is a retired vendor. I didn't even realize the game recognized that as a career that could be retired from.

Casandra and Leo decided to hold their wedding the next day in their backyard. The family all took part in cleaning up the house, and Ileana made a beautiful array of meals, and a lovely wedding cake.

Here's the set up for the wedding arch and seating for the actual ceremony. I'm a sucker for outdoor weddings.

Leo invited as many friends as possible, which produced lots of lag. Here we have Elsa Bjergsen's daughters (the two blonds...notice the mustard yellow hair on one, courtesy of Miles Patel), Theodore Longo (the dark-skinned male, Leo's BFF since childhood), and... And I don't remember who the woman with the black hair is. I think she's just someone that Leo made friends with while out bumming donations from people.

Here are the proud parents of the groom.  :D

The ceremony was beautiful, and finally everyone actually sat down during it!

...Well, almost everyone. Ileana and a couple of other guests felt the need to dance while Leo and Casandra were getting married. Ileana's action didn't say she was dancing, though. Just that she was "watching the ceremony" or whatever the action is called while they're watching a marriage. She was also quite far away from the stereo.  ??? Perhaps just a new animation I haven't noticed.

The lovely couple enjoying the first slice of wedding cake... And one of Leo's friends right in the middle of it. I honestly can't remember the name of this one either, and I don't have my game open to check.  :-[

I suppose it looks a little better from the other side  ;D

Ryan is so proud of his son, who finished his last party requirement with this wedding. He also maxed charisma chatting with guests, and in the process completed his second aspiration! Friend of the World is complete!

Unfortunately, the entire day couldn't be merry... Late that night, when the party was long over, Nadia passed away of old age. Leo jumped out of bed and ran to her room, and experienced the whole thing. Ryan was out in the garden and didn't have to witness his wife's death, but he knew. Ileana felt Grim's presence in her home for the second time in just a few days, and came to comfort Leo.

Rest in peace, Nadia.  :'(

Everyone in the family has their own way of coping. Leo buries himself in his work. Casandra goes fishing for hours. Ileana paints her feelings badly. Ryan repairs things that break in the house instead of replacing them.

Aubrey and Darius seek comfort in each other.

This household just can't seem to catch a break... The next night, Darius dies of old age.

Rest in peace, Darius. It was nice having you in the house for a whole three days.

Up next, Ileana invites someone new to the household.

And Casandra violently vomiting??

Hi all! First up, let me introduce Jarvis Merrill, the handsome sim Ileana met in San Myshuno. He's lazy, evil, and self-assured and Ileana brought him into the household to pollinate and harvest satisfaction points for more potions of youth.

His favorite targets--I mean victims--I mean lovers are the ones that hang around San Myshuno in tacky tourist outfits.

By the way, the girl on the left is Nicole Pancakes, granddaughter of Eliza Pancakes. The blonde on the right is Paisley Caliente, granddaughter of Dina Caliente.

As you've probably assumed, Casandra has become pregnant with the fourth heir of the Bern Immortal Dynasty. Yay! I'm hoping for the heir to have that red hair. I actually rarely use it on my sims.

This is a cute shot.  ;D The crop top with the big belly is hilarious, but I can't bring myself to change it!

Oh, and here is Leo's reaction to Casandra announcing her pregnancy, as if the big round belly wasn't a dead giveaway. He responded with the same amusing expression as Ryan did when Nadia announced her pregnancy.

Soon came the time for our fourth heir's debut...

Welcome to the dynasty, Jacob Bern! He has dark brown eyes, like his mother and father. Everyone loves doting over him--especially grandma Aubrey.

What else is there to update on? Well, Ryan was abducted by aliens again... Then started putting on a suspicious amount of weight around his stomach.

Eventually a little blue baby girl came along! Sadly, Ryan sent her back to her homeworld. The household is already busy enough with one infant getting ready to become a toddler. (Also, the echoing alien baby cry creeps me out)

And that's enough screenshots for one post... Oh, except for this one of Robbie's ghost spotted at the park in San Myshuno. Too soon.  :'(

Apologies for one update right after another, but I didn't want to make the first one too long.

Jacob has aged up to toddler, and he's adorable. And he has his mother's red hair! His toddler trait is inquisitive.

He's also completely spoiled. Someone is always doting over him.

What do we feed the toddler tonight? Lobster thermidor, of course. Only the best for baby heirs!

Leo's adult birthday snuck up on me, so he had a few friends over for small gathering. A great opportunity to bum some more donations off of his friends for "No Sim Left Behind." Speaking of which, Leo has reached level 9 of the Charity Organizer career path, with the title "Leader of the Cause." Once he maxes his career, he'll have all of his requirements finished to eat ambrosia.

They grow up so fast...  :'(

Father and son bonding over cake!

The next day Aubrey aged up to elder and spent the day sad because she didn't have a birthday party. ::)

Jacob's toddler days sped by, and before I knew it he woke up in the middle of the night to age up to child.....And without maxing all of his toddler skills.  >:( Perhaps I just need more toddler practice, but it seems near impossible to max all of the toddler skills on a normal lifespan! We got Jacob up to level 3 potty, 5 communication, 5 thinking, 4 movement, and 3 imagination. At least I did better this time than I did with Leo.

Jacob picked up the "cheerful" trait and is going to pursue the Social Butterfly aspiration.

Oooo! I've missed a lot here!  For some reason, I thought i had commented at some point, but it seems I haven't, or at least not in a long time.  Congrats on two immortals and with a third well on his way!  Oo, Jacob got the red hair! So awesome ^^ RIP to everyone!  So many deaths so close together.  Feel like that's something that happens quite often in the IDC, especially early on.  Can't wait to read more.
