Proposals during holiday
« on: June 24, 2018, 09:26:39 AM »
Is anyone else having issues with sims proposing during holidays. I've tried it with two couples on high relationship scores and both times the proposal has been turned down. Works fine when it's not a holiday though.

Yes that happened in my game and wondered why but didn't link it to it being a holiday. (Which it was.) Might need more testing though before we can call it a 'bug'.

I tried that recently on Harvest Day, did it once and it failed, then did a whole bunch of flirty actions and tried a second time, proposal went ahead like normal...  maybe it's hit and miss if you can do it or not.

It's not holiday related, Lilith Vasotec rejected my sims first proposal and accepted the second the next day. Neither days were holidays and their romance bar was 3/4 full

So maybe the chance of a proposal failing has been slightly increased. Proposals definitely do work though but it is unusual for them to fail when the sims have no negative moodlets and both relationship bars are full.

Seems likely. Either that, or in my case the sim very sensibly didn't fancy moving in with Hannibal Lecter and his collection of cow plants...

I think I can manage that... Hannibal relaxing with a glass of wine, his favourite cowplants (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) and the only companions that are safe around him ;-) (Hannibal wasn't created by me, he was a download, there are some really nice ones to choose from.)

As for proposals during holidays and otherwise
I've a couple who were BFFs with maxed friendship and romance. Outside of a holiday, one sim proposed and got shot down. After some romantic socials,  the other sim proposed and was accepted.
During Love Day, I have a couple who met just sim-hours earlier. Again, BFFs and with friendship/romance at about 85%. This proposal was accepted the first go.
So I have no conclusions to draw about proposals and holidays.
But I'm sure the constant Sad moodlets from mourning barely acquainted sims has been doing my game no favors. Grrrr.

@callycat
Thank you for sharing that shot of your Hannibal and his highly suspicious posse of rowdy companions.
Hannibal is quite handsome, though. May I assume he's a snob? lol

@oshizu - yes, a Snob, a Foodie and a Genius, of course! He's a Mad Scientist hiding out on Deadgrass Isle without power or water, but doing very nicely. Unfortunately the place is getting a bit of a reputation for missing persons (I can't think why) so he may have to move on to a new hiding place.

I have also had a couple who have maxed both friendship and romance bars, have a baby on the way and have no negative buffs.. I have tried getting both of them to propose and each other and they always say no.. I'm wondering if it's now some type of standoff between them! haha :P

Omg I love your game @callycat  LOL It sounds pretty fun to play.

Proposals do seem to have changed somewhat as with testing a couple of sims with both relationship bars at 100% and Soulmate status, BFF etc 100% needs and no negative moodlets get refused 4 out of 10 times.

Not a conclusive test but prior to Seasons I would have said that was an instant formula for success. Often low hygiene will result in a refusal as hygiene is taken into consideration on the successful chances of a proposal as are negative moodlets. So I guess there is now the element of surprise in 'perfect' proposals!
