[BUG?] No Animation for Rain/Snow

Hey, I'm sure it's a long shot and this is my first time using this website so I'm not even sure if this is the appropriate place to ask but it's worth a try. So, I have a glitch(?) with my seasons game and wondered if anyone else has this problem or can help. When it rains and snows in my game I can hear it and see on the current weather it is raining or snowing but my game doesn't show them falling from the sky. All my settings have the snow and rain feature on but I just can't see them falling. If anyone has any advice it would awesome and greatly appreciated 

(i have some cc but i have recently cleaned it out so I would not have problems when seasons would come out. I have had no problems previously with my cc effecting my game play)

Since taking out your mods/cc have you cleared your cache files?

If yes, you may need to go through your mods folder again to see what still maybe interfering with the game. As the newest game patch caused a lot of mods and cc to become outdated.

I tried as you recommended but no luck. I moved my mods folder to my desktop and tried to see if that helped but it didn't. I also cleared my cache file. I loaded my game and used the weather machine to make rain and snow to see if I could see them but it didn't work. I see all the effects of the rain like in the water and on the streets and my sims even get moodlets from the weather it's just the actual rain/snow falling that's not showing up. Also my game graphics are at the highest setting and my game never lags.

Have you tried testing in a new game to see if it's still happening? It might be the mods/cc negatively affected the game save.

If it works you can see the rain/snow falling in a new game save, it might be that your other game save was affected.

Have you tried putting your Visual Effects setting to 'High'? Game Options>Graphics> then look for the Visual Effects drop down menu box.

I think certain weather effects do not show on lower settings.

Recap of what was tried:

1. Removed mods folder to desktop and cleared game cache files and deleted localthumbcache.package file from The Sims 4 folder.
2. Checked graphics settings
3. Tried new game without the mods folder.

Still no rain/snow animation.

This sounds like it maybe a bug to me. Have you reported it to Sims 4 Bug Reports at AHQ?
