Fun Tanking Out on Chess

Hi, I don't know if my game was just "wilted" so to speak (needed to be restarted) or what happened, but I had a sim that I stuck on the chess board for a while and when I looked at him, his fun was totally tanked out! I've never seen that before and was curious if anybody else had that happen.

I've never noticed this in any of my games before. I was thinking maybe the Sim doesn't like activities like chess, but I don't think (?) that's possible without a mod.
