Missing Hairstyle
« on: November 27, 2017, 09:16:02 AM »
I've had a Sim that I've played with for literal years whose hairstyle has suddenly just... vanished out of my CAS options. Whenever I try to place her on a lot, the game reverts her hair to one of the base game options, so I'm assuming the file is missing, but I'm not sure what would cause this. To make matters worse, I have no idea what the hairstyle is called or where it's from. I have looked through every female hairstyle on the store, searched my purchase history, re-downloaded/installed anything that I think may have been the right file, but it's still missing. I'm positive the hairstyle isn't custom content, but it did not have a expansion logo in the corner, just a save file logo, indicating it's from the store. I'm including a picture of the hairstyle from the saved Sim's thumbnail and I can attach the .sim file for her if it helps. I'm going crazy - nothing else seems to be missing from my game. I own every expansion and stuff pack with the exception of Diesel Stuff, which I'm having trouble getting Origin to recognize, but Diesel didn't add any hairstyles, so I don't know what could've changed to make this hairstyle disappear. Please help!

Edit: I looked through all the store worlds like Monte Vista and Lunar Lakes and it doesn't seem to be included in any of those bundles. As I said, I'm positive it is not CC.

It's definitely a store hairstyle. We found it in CAS.

However, we had a hard time finding it the Sims 3 store. It doesn't seem to be a separate hairstyle. We tried looking through the store sets and what-nots as best as we could but weren't able to find it.

You might try looking through your purchase history, or re-download everything a little at a time to see if you can find it again.

Thank you for taking the time to search! I suppose at this point re-downloading all my store content is the only option. I'm thinking it may have come in one of the holiday bundles or one of the pre-order sets, but I did look through a few of those and had no luck in finding it. I'll do some more digging through my purchase history and see if I can come up with something. Thanks again for trying to pin it down!

Edit: I uninstalled all of my content and re-downloaded/reinstalled everything in my purchase history and the hairstyle is back in my CAS. I still have no clue where it's from or what it's called and I went through every bundle I owned looking with no luck. Oh well. Thanks for the advice, MrsFlynn!

Thank you for the update!! :) I'm happy to hear you were able to find it. Wonder if it's a lone hair - one of those things you got for purchasing a bundle of Simpoints type thing.

My current Sim lost her hairstyle sometimes after using the sauna from Sunlit Tides. It’s a Generations hairstyle, and when I’d try to change back to it, the hairstyle had vanished from the menu. I’d have to close out the game and reopen it to get that hairstyle option back.
