Sims Sounds?
« on: October 28, 2016, 07:41:57 PM »
Hi there I just recently purchased the sims. I was wondering are they supposed to sound like they are in a tunnel. If they are not is there anyway I can fix this issue just a lil annoying everything else works fine. I feel like not having sound turned on would ruin the game thanks anyone!!!

Hi @BloodHollow Welcome to the forum  :)  I'm not quite sure what you mean exactly. Is it that the sound is directional? i.e. if you move your camera away from the stereo the sound changes... gets a little quieter etc? If so then yes, it is the way the game is designed.

There is a menu for the audio in-game. Options Menu>Game Options>Audio and then various settings to change that might help.

If it is more of an audio quality issue then my game sounds lovely, the ambience noises are delightful! So maybe you need to update the drivers for your headphones or something? I'm not a very technical person so maybe @MrsFlynn  might have some ideas on that side of things.

Note: Merged duplicate post into original poster's first post.

Try updating your audio/sound card drivers or sound settings in windows or the sound card manager.

Thanks I'll give those ideas a shot. It's weird it sounds like they are standing in a dome or like talking through a cone. I did find out it sounds perfectly fine with my headphones but not coming out of speakers so guessing it might be speakers. Well thanks again and man I've missed this game so much lol

Hmm.. You know, that sounds really familiar. I had something like that happen with my laptop after we first got it. Though everything sounded odd. We had to fiddle with the sound card manager software. It helped a little.
