Origin Issues *Solved*
« on: May 04, 2016, 01:29:39 AM »
For some reason I am unable to open the Sims 4. When I click on Origin it refuses to open. It actually doesn't do anything. When I click on the Sims 4 icon it also doesn't do anything. I was thinking this is probably because I need to sign back on to Origin. Any suggestions? Thank you!!!

*Solved*

By Restarting the computer. However, if you still have problems. Try running Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner to see if that helps. (Standard Edition is Free) [PC / Mac] How to use CCleaner to fix PC issues

If that doesn't help, it may be best to uninstall Origin and do a fresh install of Origin.

I did a search on both problems and this is what came up for me.

I got it to play. Thank you so much!!! I went through the ideas in your post and none seemed to work. It was interesting that when I went to shut down and restart after changing screen resolutions on my computer I got a message that I had to force restart due to Origin. Then when it came back up it still wouldn't come up. So rather than using the shortcut I tried the all programs access. When I did that it stated that a download was paused. Which I really don't think I processed. Then it made me install everything all over again. I am just hoping my dynasty family is there as I had started a story on this site. Crossing my fingers. However, thank you so much for the ideas!!!

It shouldn't really be conflicting with Windows. Even if you keep it open and minimized most of the time.

Something else that you could consider doing if you haven't already, Uninstall Origin. Use Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner. Then reinstall Origin to see if that helps. Links in the post below:

This will not hurt Sims 4 if you have it installed. As they are both 2 different programs installed into 2 different folders.

I actually didn't reinstall Origin. However, when I started Origin it said it was installing my games. However all my previously played and saved games are still there. Thank you!!
