Lagging Issues?
« on: April 11, 2015, 09:05:45 PM »
Hi there, I currently play the Sims 4 on my Asus V3-571G Laptop, here are the specs:

Processor   Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
Manufacturer   Intel
Speed   2.2 GHz
Number of Cores   8

Video Card    NVIDIA GeForce 710M
Manufacturer   NVIDIA
Chipset   GeForce 710M
Dedicated Memory   2.0 GB
Total Memory   3.9 GB

Memory   8.0 GB

Operating System   Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit
Service Pack   0
Size   64 Bit
Edition   Basic

Display Maximum Resolution   1366 x 768

Drive
Size   911.8 GB
Free   647.7 GB

I have CC mainly clothes/accessories, no hairstyles as it messed my game up so I removed them all.
I have Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat and Sims 4 Get To Work.

Recently when I play the game, the sims will freeze while doing something, but the time and background will carry on, it can lag anywhere from a second to a couple minutes and then it will reset back to the correct game time so the sims don't lose progression if that makes sense but it's getting really irritating because it's becoming more regular to the point where it's hard to play the game.
I can't pin point when it started I think roughly around the time I installed outdoor retreat, I've played around with the settings having them on low, medium and high, as well as tried laptop mode on and off, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
What settings do you recommend for my laptop? Could the lag be caused my CC?
Please help!

Have you cleared the cache files?

Hi Nerdoboo,

It looks like your computer should be able to run Sims 4 just fine. Without to much lag. What comes to mind is the question, when have you last gone through your mods/custom content?

The reason I ask is due to the new (March 2015) patch breaking a lot of mods/custom content. It's been suggested to go through all your mods/custom content and take out whatever doesn't work.

If you need help with that here's a little HowTo

How to Fix Problems with Mods/CC

Yes, lag may be caused the mods/custom content. Specially if it's outdated.

Like Dellena mentioned, Clearing the cache files may help as well.

Hope this helps, and Welcome to the Forum!! :)

I have now cleaned the Cache files thanks for the tip.
I must admit I haven't gone through my CC so I shall also do that and see if it makes a difference. Thank you so much for your help.
