Download error

I keep seeing this when I try to download Pets! It says to check my internet connection (obviously fine) or just try later. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm so bummed, I've been waiting for PetsDay for months! ;;

There's been quite a few players reporting this problem since earlier this summer. It may be because it wasn't ready for download in your part of the world, or EA servers are being overloaded.

Try downloading it again. If that doesn't work try:

1. Log out of Origin completely (If exiting Origin isn't working, open Task manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) search for a file called ts4.exe or Origin. Click on it and select End Task) restart your computer, then try the download again.

2. Uninstall/Reinstall Origin and then try the download again.

3. If either doesn't work, you may need to contact EA Customer Support.

i've tried all of those things, and i repaired the game files as well.. and it's definitely been out in my area for about 8 hours! ( i'm so frustrated! i took a whole day off for pets day and it's totally thwarted. i did send an error report to EA but will they even answer? i've never had to deal with EA customer support before;;;

They will most likely answer. You just have to be patient and wait awhile. This weekend is a holiday weekend, (Veteran's Day) so they may only have a few people on staff today to help with issues.

well they did reply, and my customer support tech was LOVELY really, and i did a whole bunch of things like cache clearing and something with the command screen... but none of it helped when i restarted the computer and tried again.

what DID help was a suggestion on the official forums to cancel my pre-order (which never did charge my card, it seems) and just buy it now. and now it's installing with about 8 minutes left. so there we go!
