Ghost still in relationship panel

I got rid of one of my married Sim's romantic interests.  Grim came, and the guy became a ghost.  I had an NPC Sim (not my Sim so she didn't get sad) send the guy to the netherworld and destroy the urn.
However, his ghost is still in my Sim's relationship panel.
Why is his ghost still there?  I thought I did it correctly.

The ghost of the departed sim is still going to show up in the friends panel for awhile to come, just play on as usual.. If you decide to start up a new relationship the departed sim won't cause any trouble.

ok, thanks a lot, Franki.  I haven't had aging on for a long time (it's still off), but I couldn't locate the sim in manage worlds, so I had to turn him into a ghost .  I usually just deleted any Sims who want to cheat with my Sims, but I couldn't located this guy.  I had forgotten that ghost Sims remain in relationship panels for awhile.
