Sims 3 doesn't recognize new graphics card - GTX 960M

Hello, I recently got a new computer with a graphics card not recognized by the sims 3. I followed every step in the tutorial and rechecked everything at least 10 times. My problem is that the graphics card is still not recognized. It now says [Found: 1, Matched: 0], so it half worked. Can anyone help me fix this?

From your DeviceConfig.log file, please share the information from the Ratings info and Graphics device info. Like in the example below:

From this information we can help you edit your graphicscards.sgr and graphicsrules.sgr files.

In GraphicsCards.sgr file add this line:

card 0x139b "GeForce GTX 960M"

Directly beneath the vendor "NVIDIA" line so that it looks like this below:

vendor "NVIDIA" 0x10b4 0x12d2 0x10de
           card 0x139b "GeForce GTX 960M"

Save the file and exit notepad.

Open GraphicsRules.sgr and search for section ending with:

or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 5??*") or match("${cardName}", "*GT 6??*") or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 6??*") or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 6??*"))

and add:

or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 9??*")

between the two )) at the end of the section, so that it looks like the lines below:

or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 5??*") or match("${cardName}", "*GT 6??*") or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 6??*") or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 6??*") or match("${cardName}", "*GTX 9??*"))

Save this file and exit notepad. Then run the game and after closing it check the deviceconfig.log file and it should recognize your card.

If you'd rather just have the graphics files, please see attached zip file, they contain both GraphicsCards.sgr and GraphicsRules.sgr files.

Download and unzip. You can overwrite the current .sgr files with these. - Delete or overwrite the old graphic files with the new ones.

You may need to load the game to main menu and exit to make the Deviceconfig.log file be aware of the change.

Then the DeviceConfig.log file should be able to say "Found: 1, Matched: 1"

I've done all that already, checked and re-checked and re-checked.

Coppied straight from my files. I can't see where I went wrong.

Hmm.. if you've already tweaked the graphics files, have you made sure to tweak the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel?

Tried the NVIDIA control panel thing, didn't work. Your files did though! THANK YOU!!! I can't express how grateful I am. I have been working on this for days. Again, thank you so very much!
