Sadness Hotline
« on: September 22, 2014, 10:27:22 AM »
Just found this out today... When your sims sad they can use their phone and call the sadness hotline. This is my sim doing so I was actually suprised at the sadness on his face as he was talking to them.

He was happy once he got off the phone with them still had the +1 sadness from a bummer day at school but was overridden by +2 Happy from Therapeutic Chat

Awesome!  I hadn't found this yet.  Thanks :)  I love all these little touches.  And there's a real life lesson there too.

Awesome, that's so much better than trying to talk it off in a mirror or having a shower etc.

Could it be, and bare with me, that this is actually the in-game equivalent to the suicide hotline? And it's called Sadness Hotline because PG Rating.
A bit grim, but then again, this is the same game where you as the player can kill your sims, willingly.

Erm...did you guys really not notice this option before now? It's been there like forever ;D

It's a big help when you divorce your Sims which I have great experience with...

Last year, I dropped in on the Landgraabs, for the first time, and Geoffrey had somehow just lost his job. He was sad, and had the option to call the hotline. I have no doubt, it was intended to mirror other hotlines.

Oh no, not really, look at all the mistakes I post. I'm the queen of typos and errors!  :P And always they are the posts that get quoted! lol

Still, it's easy to make assumptions, when a thread is revived, after many years. It's a bit like the Spanish Inquisition. It's unexpected.
