Weird crashing
« on: July 28, 2017, 03:18:50 PM »
I tried to play Sims 3 after few months but when the loading bar in the screen before you get to pick a save hits 1/4 or full I can hear a slight click, the screen goes black and my computer turns on completly normally

There aren't any error screens or any crashlogs or anything anywhere to get some idea about what's wrong and I have no idea what to do/can't find anything similiar by googling

I've tried all the different methods of fixing errors and etc but nothing has helped

Loading Sims can hog the power.  I've had this happen to me twice and found (on two separate occasions) that it was (1) the graphics card overheating and (2) the power plant overheating.  My son fixed the first issue by installing a new graphics card and the second by cleaning my computer.  The accumulated dust made it look like an Egyptian excavation site had nested on my heat sink.  Could this be your problem too?

Here are some general crashing tips to try:

General Crashing Issues

If you have a desktop, It's highly recommended making sure you have a strong enough power supply and graphics card as this game is very graphic and processor heavy, just like Magz from Oz mentioned. The more packs, mods, cc and store content you throw at it. The more resources it takes to run the game.
