Firefighter career

happy fouth of july everybody!

I am currently playing the firefighter career in sims 3,for the first time and find it to be fun! and I am noticing that my sim does all the work even though laurel Worthington and shane nyguen are also fire fire fighters in the game as well. my question is is this normal for this game? is the focus on your sim only for this job and the other sims are just there for show?

I think you're correct - the focus is on the Sim you're playing and the NPC (non-player characters) are there maybe to help out a bit and to interact with when needed.

thank you for replying! I am having so much fun doing the firefighter career! I hope I get an earthquake at some point in this current game. I've heard they are random. hope I will be lucky to have one. that would be great!

One of you NPC fellow firefighters will have the important job of standing and yelling while pointing every time the fire alarm goes off.  Apart from that the star of the career will always be your own sim who will keep the world safe all by him/herself. Having a high level of friendship with the NPC slackers will help your sim to get promoted though.
