Stuck loading 'Travelling Home" (from uni) screen

Hi there,

I have had a lot of issues with my sims lately so have had 3 of 4 sims drop out of uni and go home. I am trying to get my remaining sims home via dropping out and my screen freezes on the 'travelling home' screen. It loads a small section and then the loading bar and messages don't move or change, however music still plays.

I have also installed Traveller, OverWatch, ErrorTrap and MasterController mods to help. I was having issues where on a Monday all my family relations disappeared (this was fixed with the mods). Now I'm stuck on this screen and I'm not sure what to do. I've tried restarting, using a back up save and looked at other forum answers but none seem to fit this particular problem. I don't want to lose any of my family generations by uninstalling.

I play on a fairly new Mac.

I discovered that if my sims are on holidays and some are sent home early, but others remain behind, the remaining ones can't return home and Sims 3 is stuck loading the 'travelling home' screen. I wonder if this is the same issue as that. Sadly, I had to go back to an earlier save and make sure they all leave at the same time in future. If sims 'drop out' of university as an autonomous behaviour by the sims, I don't know what to suggest, but if you have that choice, perhaps send them all back or none of them back.

Hi there,

I tried getting them all to go home previous to this and it still would not load. My issue isn't that they won't go, like most other forum posts, but that it doesn't continue to load the hometown. My back up and save game are of the same time and date. So i'm not sure how to go back or how to get it to load?

Is there another way of resetting it before they went to uni or I don't know another way to fix this haha!

I downloaded debug enabler and now it'll load all the way except for the last tiny tiny bit. The blurbs now continue moving instead of freezing but then we get stuck at this point...

It sounds like you said you didn't understand how to go back to a previous save?

It does sound though that your game may be crashing while trying to load. In the posts linked below are tips that may help with that.
