New to Sims 4 - Questions
« on: March 29, 2018, 01:49:07 PM »
I'm new to Sims 4 and just learning the Sims 4 controls.

How do I get to town view? I want to be able to select businesses to send my Sims to.

Are there places I can send my Sims to to get "lessons" like in Sims 3?

Is there any way to use the house(s) I designed in Sims 3? Can I import them somehow?
Or the Sims families I was working with in Sims 3?

Thanks for your help.

Go to the Main Menu, Click either the Play button or Load Game, and pick a game to load.

Once you load your saved game, you should be at the Map Screen.

Click on the household you want to play. Click M to Travel. This will take you back to the Map Screen where you can choose where you want your Sim to Travel. Click the link below if you want to learn more about traveling.

There is the Tutorial mode you can try, but it's mostly for Create a Sim I believe. You can turn it off/on in the options:

There isn't anyway to import houses or families from Sims 3 to 4. As they're completely different games. Different save formats.

You could take photos of the floor plans in Sims 3 and recreate them in Sims 4.

Hi @mamadragon, welcome to the forum.

Sims 4 doesn't have 'lessons' for skills the way Sims 3 does but the library in Willow Creek has all beginner skill books which you can read to learn any skill up to level 3 and sims can learn quite quickly by using the relevent items - easel for painting, chess table for logic etc.

I've been known to draw floor plans of houses I like on graph paper and recreate them, there are also loads of ideas on the building thread.

Happy Simming
Helen

Welcome to the forum @mamadragon

In addition to the great tips from MrsFlynn and HelenP...

Once you're in your game, you can also click "..." in the upper right corner of your sceen (either Live mode or Buy/Build mode).
When the MENU displays, click on the fifth option down: "Lessons."

Here you'll find some information about various aspects of The Sims 4 gameplay.
I imagine different Lessons will display, depending on which expansion/game/stuff packs you have. (I'm not sure because I have all the  packs.)

Have fun and happy simming!  ;D

Thanks all. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go along. The suggestion to go take pics of my other created houses is a good one. I'll do that.

Consider following the "Balloon lessons". They are basic, but they go over things, like the "Manage World View" & the "Live Mode". One of the very first things I do, is make a couple of meals, then throw them away. By then, you should level up, in cooking. Then cook a group meal. This should get your "Welcome Wagon" event off to a good start. "Call to Meal", should help you make a good impression, on your first social event, as long as there are enough places to sit. Good luck-a-roni.
