My game won't work - never ending loading

So when toddlers came  my sims did this thing where it let me create a sim and choose the house etc  and then it startead loading... well turns out it just kept loading and loading, I waited for about 20 minutes and it still loaded. I tried it out today and it did the same thing. I can only create a sim but not play with it, same with already made households. I'm really sad and I miss playing the sims
