Innocent?
« on: December 31, 2016, 06:22:53 AM »
Hi guys, I'm back to the Sims 4 from the Sims 3 now. :D

I've having a bug that the matched suspect doesn't show up at the place since yesterday. I saved just before APB in front of the crime map. I traveled to many lots and found one teen sim was showing up every places my sim goes. The clue i got was red hair, jeans, jacket, mean trait, female, teen but the teen sim spawns every places is male, teen, yellow hair, shorts, shirts. No trait I found from him. I arrested him and he put his arms for handcuffs.

Came back to the police station and interrogated him. He was very worried but finally, I saw 'release innocent suspect'.  Is it related with his maybe logic skill?

When I had this detective job with different sim last year, I've never got this innocent case. But their logic skills and handiness skills were high when they joined the detective career.  Or is it supposed to arrest the wrong suspect?  Also interrogate the suspect doesn't full fill after releasing the innocent suspect.
Very hard to be escaped from Sims.

There have been several bugs reported with the detective career recently, and this sounds like one of them. It's been a while since I played a detective, and I can't remember whether "release innocent suspect" was an option then. I seem to recall that if you made a false arrest, you found out about it pretty quickly. Fingers crossed that they fix the bug soon.

@Summers, I ran into this myself, just as you described. It turned out that the profile fit a police officer as well, the chief of police in my Sim's case. I still haven't figured out what I need to do to clear the case board.

@MarianT  the Chief being a suspect was a bug fixed in a recent patch. Are you playing an older game? Often the bug fixes are not retroactive and I'm not sure that you can clear the case board. I do know that people reported deleting the chief using Manage Households at least allowed them to move on in the game but I've not experienced this bug so I do not have any 1st hand experience.

I just started the game, and it's a challenge so I can't delete the chief. I'll be posting about it in the Patient and Perpetrators thread.

Rats, good luck with it then. Hopefully it will sort itself out.  :)

As it turns out, my Sim was able to interrogate the former chief of police the next time she went to work. I'm not sure this was a bug, after all.

Maybe that was the part that was fixed! The bug made it so the chief could not be interrogated... as after all, it is The Chief! lol Glad to hear it went smoothly regardless.  :)

@MarianT I've never gotten the chief as the correct suspect. :D In my case, all of them were actually, spawned homeless sims. It's great that detective sim is able to interrogate his or her chief as a suspect just like a movie.

Actually, you can't interrogate the chief until he stops being the chief.

@MarianT  Ahhh yes I missed 'former' in your text. It's a bit sad..I could make the chief as a spy from gangs group. :D
