Totally flat city?
« on: September 21, 2016, 12:32:50 PM »
I'm looking for a custom city I can build in. Basically, I would like the city to be completely flat, so I can place any new lots anywhere I want without worrying about sloping terrain. I would also prefer for it to be as big as possible, and to have every single commercial building in the game placed in it. Every type of consignment shop, every government service, every grocery and book store. Also, I would prefer if every rabbithole was its own separate building, since I heard a rumor that merging the services into a single rabbithole building has a tendency to screw up randomly-generated opportunities.

Are there any maps out there I can download that meet, if not all, then a majority, of the above criteria? The most important criterion is that the city be completely flat, since I can add everything else in the "Edit Town" mode.

I'm  glad to know someone else (besides me) wants these characteristics.  I have been working on such a world for quite a while.  I haven't even named all the streets etc. yet, because why do that if the water isn't right for houseboats? Island Paradise came out midway through the original world so I had to do a lot of redesigning where things would go and more deep water.  I do tend to put in my redesigned City Hall, Library, and anything else I want a different way. (nearly everything, even though it takes a lot longer.  They can easily be replaced though.  Unfortunately my old PC is not active anymore so I had hesitated to put it all on my laptop, for about a year now.  Plus I thought I'd give Sims 4 a try. I did, hate it.  Building and redesigning is my thing, no matter how absurd the sims may be!  Unfortunately I don't know how much time I'll be able to commit to this, so I can't promise anything. But I will mark this page, to let you know if I ever finish it.  Was reading these pages because its been so long I couldn't remember a lot of things. Oh I do have one Hill (small Mt) in one corner, so I could have a waterfall.  Its the designated fairy/make believe area of town:)  I'll send you some pics, if you're interested, have to take new ones, they are all on my old pc. If you're really interested, perhaps we could be partners, if you are willing to download CAW you could help. Regards, Barbara
