No fishermen?

My game seems to have stopped generating fishermen. Other NPC's, including gardeners, aren't affected. It's happening in new files as well as my current game file. I cleared caches and repaired the game, which didn't help. I'm not sure when it started. I just noticed it night before last.

That is so weird... I was just searching about this! I know, right! I have had no fishermen NPC's for a while now but I can't pinpoint when the change exactly occurred. I can't remember if I had fishermen before the patch or if it changed with City Living... and I can't really find anything about it anywhere to be honest.

It has to be a bug though, just probably people haven't noticed them missing in their game yet.

Strange....i'm going to have to watch out for this when i'm in a park fishing again. I always noticed in the past when I went to the Desert Bloom park in Oasis Springs at the first fishing spot off to the right if I went and fished there, either there was already one or two other townies there fishing, or if I started fishing one or two other people would eventually show up to fish.

I'll let you guys know what happens in my game later after I try going to the same places and see if anyone else does fishing.

It's the NPC fisherman that aren't showing up. But now that you mention it, I'll have to check to see if anyone is fishing.

No, my initial post was specifically about the game-generated NPC fisherman not showing up in either Desert Bloom or Magnolia Blossom Park. Rangervegas's post made me question whether other Sims are fishing autonomously. My controlled Sim is able to fish.

I have NPC sims fishing autonomously in my game but not many and certainly not as many as there used to be. Still no game generated Fishermen/women in my games so I'm calling it a bug. I've tested 5 different new game files, one after a factory rest and still nothing.

Ok so let me see if i've got this right. There were NPC fishermen at some fishing spots who wernt townies or neighbours with names? Man I never even noticed them before. How do they show up if you hover over them? Like the Gardener or the Mailman/woman does? I never even knew there were people like that. Did they serve some game interaction purpose? I know one of my Sims went all the way thru the Angling Ace aspiration and never needed to talk or interact with someone like that.

Man the things you learn about this game like WAY down the road..... LOL

@Rangervegas  they were basically like the NPC Community Gardener sims. They wore the full body fisherman/woman suits and had as their job description 'Fisherman'. They would just turn up in parks and fish basically but always had level 10 fishing skill, just as the NPC gardeners have level 10 gardening skill. Apart from that they don't actually do anything but it is weird that they are now absent.

No it is a full body fisherman wader outfit similar to rl chest waders. Usually a green or grey-green color from memory. I actually don't have any screenshots either. I'd imagine you can unlock it in cas with the careers clothes cheat but I haven't tried as I've just never had the need of the outfit.

O.K.  Thanks --- maybe those other NPC's in pink overalls were part of the Garden Gnomes or some other club, which involves fishing.

Ok now that you mention what they looked like and how they are named and stuff I do remember seeing them ever so often in the past but not noticeably in the last few months i've been playing. LOL I did just have 2 sims go thru the fishing aspiration in the last month or so real time and I don't remember seeing them anytime I was out fishing with either of them. So perhaps they have been gone awhile?? I wonder if there is a way to look in the game code and see if they were removed from being spawned or something.
