Fishes
« on: December 02, 2010, 09:57:01 AM »
What are the new fishes added since Late night came out, and where can we find them?  do they have a spawner of their own, or are they just added to the other spawners?  Also are they found in the other towns (Sunset Valley etc) or only Bridgeport?

Thanks
:)

Link, http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Fishing_(The_Sims_3) just scroll down the chart and look for fish that have TS3:LN next to them.

The new fish added with Late Night are:

Kissing Gourami (lvl 4) - goldfish (bait)
Sea Sludge (lvl 2) - links (bait)
Sea Trilobite (lvl 6) - minnow (bait)

They can be found in each of the cities/towns (Sunset Valley, Riverview, Bridgeport, etc.) that EA has made and are available.  As to spawners, I would imagine that there are some.  I am not 100 % certain of this since my game is not updated to the Late Night release.

Are you sure about the new fish being available in the old towns?  I haven't found any in Sunset Valley yet and someone else in another thread said they aren't going to be any there.

I have found all 3 new fish species in my Clan Douglas Dynasty game in Sunset Valley.  The key to finding them is that they aren't in the usual places where you see fish jumping.  You need to zoom in on another point in the water, where it says "there aren't very many fish here" or something like that.  It's been a while since my fisherman went after the new species, but I think I found the Sea Sludge and Trilobite near the pier.  I think the gourami was in Crystal Springs pond.

Do the new ones show up when you inspect the water?

Yes. And Schipperke's right, they're not in the typical "This is a great spot to fish" locations. I inspected the water at the Science Center, but inspected an area between the 2 normal spawn areas with the visible fish. Kissing Gourami popped up in the list.

I inspected a random spot at the pond across from my Dynasty house and also got Kissing Gouramis.  No luck with the other new ones yet.

Here's the lowdown on the new fish — at least for Sunset Valley...Trilobites and Sea Sludge are all Ocean fish. They are available in ALL ocean water. The trick, as always mentioned, is you can't fish right on top of the "This is a great place to fish" locations where the spawn point is and they're jumping. Drop your line right in between two of those points.

Kissing Gourami are at the opposite end of the spectrum — you'll never find them in ocean water, but they are available in ALL fresh water (ponds/lakes), even the Graveyard. The same principle applies — drop your line in between 2 points where the fish are jumping in fresh water.
