Random Sim Generation
« on: November 03, 2016, 01:54:52 PM »
Hello guys,

I was wondering if any of you know if there is a method to prevent the generating of random sims? I find myself "cleaning out" households not in the world several times a day as it is - they are always obese, badly dressed, constantly want to visit and take up space on listings when I try to add specific sims to a club for instance. It is really bothering me to no end.

Other than that, I enjoy playing TS4 :D

I just delete them one by one.  However, you could gather them together in one house by going to manage worlds, and then, delete the household.
You could make more Sims and put them in houses so they don't get culled (deleted), and then, fewer game generated sims seem to appear in manage worlds.

If you want to keep them, but change their appearance, personality or name, etc., then you could open the cheat console (box) by pressing control + shift + c at the same time.  After you're in the box, then type testingcheats on.
Then, type cas.fulleditmode
Finally press escape to get out of the box, left click the sim, and click on modify in cas (create-a-sim).  You can change anything about a Sim in cas.

I agree whole totally @Nindigo The game generated sims I've ben getting recently are 9/10 obese and every single male is obese and with the feminine walk and nearly every female has the slouchy walk (can't remember it's name). It's driving me a little bonkers quite frankly. I usually ignore it in-game for about a sim day or two and then have a major clean up. I use the cas.fulledit method @coolsim9999999 describes for the simple reason that deleting them just allows the game to spawn more of the same. Interestingly a lot of them 'tidy up' quite nicely. If they are very appealing I pop them into a house.

I use a combination of cas.fulleditmode and deleting --- but now, I will change more of them into better Sims with cas because the limit of sims is about 220 in houses before culling begins (That's the number of Sims, right, @Playalot?)  I guess that's because of City Living and all of the new city's residents.

220 was the number for Get Together, it has been increased for City Living but I'm just not sure by how much.  :) Maybe 250 but that is just a guess till I find out for sure.

Thanks for your replies. That's a lot of random sims just walking around, and I don't see the point. Oh well. I guess, I'll just try and make them look more appealing in CAS :-\ But Maxis really needs to make it possible to stop this flow of sims from Game Options :) In my humble option anyway.

A lot of people express the same concern @Nindigo  It was tuned down some time ago which is why we see Maxis made housed sims doing many of what I believe should be NPC roles like mixologist or spa worker and now food cart vendor. I actually preferred it when my game spawned more NPC's and left these housed sims alone! Although it meant more game spawned sims it made me feel like my world was more believable. After all who works as a vendor and a massage spa worker and a mixologist all in one day? Don Lothario does... in my current game anyway.  ;) I find this far more disturbing than all those ugly game spawned sims walking around, and believe me that annoys me a lot!

@Playalot

I do see your point...although, I was happy with "my" Don Lothario working as a gym trainer instead of this 600 lbs young asian fellow with a black Santa beard. Well, he's changeable, I know. I'll stop pouting :P
