Author Topic: [BUG] Kleptomaniac + Always Welcome Trait Swipping Issue fixed (Read 4247 times)

I have a kleptomaniac sim that I also bought the always welcome trait with. (Aspiration rewards) Before I bought always welcome, I would swipe objects and they would go into my household inventory as usual. Ever since I got the trait always welcome, when I swipe an object it goes through and says I successfully swiped it and has gone in my household inventory even though there is nothing there. When I click on the object again it has no swipe option and says "Stolen from so and so household". There is no way I can see to put the stolen object in my inventory. Can someone help me?

Welcome to the forum @himynameis1322

first check that it is not mods causing the issue as the last patch broke quite a few.

Try quitting out of your game and deleting the localthumbcache.package file from your The Sims 4 folder and then hop back into game and see if that has fixed it. It's perfectly safe to delete this folder, in fact I tend to delete it after every play session just out of habit.

Rats, let me have a quick look around and see if I can come up with something else to try. I'm hoping this isn't a new bug caused by the latest patch!

I dont know if it is a new bug but i have not found anybody else on the internet with this bug. I was however able to get rid of the trait so I am ok for now. I have basically solved by problem, but if you want to look into it more for your sake you can. Thanks anyways!

There is also an open bug report on the EA Bug Thread so unfortunately you're not alone in experiencing this bug!

Be great if you could post a 'Me Too' on the bug report, even better if you could post your found work-around as that would help other people with the same issue.

Actually never mind, It didn't fix the bug. It only got rid of the trait. I think I was able to steal things after the big patch but I dont really remember too well. Ill make sure to contribute in that post you linked me to. Thank you!

I thought I might be the only one having this issue, but I'm glad I found this! I am also unable to see things that are "successfully swiped" in my sim's household inventory. I don't have the "Always Welcome" reward but I'm sure I was able to see things swiped before the patch. Following to see if anyone has a solution!
