Today I saw a centipede in my bedroom while playing a game. Ewww it was very creepy. Then I have to save the game and call my uncle to find and kill it (it's big, so scary). Unfortunately, my uncle accidentally kick an extension leads and a PC was turn off while a game saving. I'm afraid a saved-game may corrupt, because someone lost a saved-game (or even a backup) from power outage while saving. Luckily, a last saved-game is still here and I still can access to that neighborhood. However, there is one thing that i'm still afraid, I don't know if there is anything corrupted or changed, likes some Sims lose from neighborhood, their face change to weird face or can't enter some households. I didn't check it yet because we didn't found a centipede yet and that creature is dangerous to our house, we must get rid off it. It's a bedtime now. So here is questions :

1) Can a saved-game (or backup) be corrupted when power outage or PC turn off while saving ? If yes, what cause of this ?
2) I still can access to my neighborhood, that is mean nothing corrupt or "changed", even just a one small tree or some Sims face, right ?

(I want to get rid off that centipede now. It walked through my foot, very scary moment. I thought it was a cat tail. Too bad it's too dark now)

Q1 - answer:
Yes the saved game/backup can become corrupt if saving when the power goes out, due to the jolt or possibly loosing power while writing the file.

Q2 - answer:
You may still be able to access the neighborhood, but do watch for game glitches.

Best thing to do is play-test the game to see if everything is okay. If so, play on. If not, but you can still access the family and their house, export both family and house and create a new game.

Thank you for an information, Mrs.Flynn. More than 12 hours to search for that million-legs creature, no sign of it. Now I have to move my PC and all the things to my living room. It's time to check if there is nothing has been really messed up (like my house now, lol). I've checked it, both last saved and last backup and it looks like everything is fine. Don't know if this may has any problems in my town in the future but not now. I should be more careful in the next time, likes copy my last saved-game to the desktop and the methods that you adviced.

Excuse me, I have an another question. Which is more safe or better choice to play, a last saved game or a last backup game (or both in equally) ? These two files has a progress that didn't different much, just around 30 in-game minutes. Right now I choose a backup file because I think it was more safe than the last saved file.

If both files are okay then it doesn't really matter. Just pick up from where you left off from the either save file.

Ahh OK, I choose a backup to play then. Need to find my million-legs friend again in tomorrow. Thank you again, Mrs.Flynn. This information helps me a lot.
