Outdoor Lights Off Center

I use mods and I am unsure if this is caused by mods, but I don't have anything that changes lighting or graphics. It is most noticeable in small pathway lights.

I don't have a dropbox account, so I can't see the photo. It maybe more helpful to upload the photo to imgur.com so it can be viewed without an account.

Anyway, I'm not sure what could be causing the lights to be off centered. I don't think (?) lighting mods would make the actual light object go off center.

You could maybe try moving the lights with the moveobjects cheat. However, please do note to turn it off after use. So it doesn't mess up the game save. As that cheat has been known to mess up game saves from time to time.

Ok I'll change to imgur. Didn't know you needed an account to see them on dropbox. I will try and see what happens.

I think it might (?) be a new thing with dropbox or that what you have to share needs to be set up as shared publicly. I don't really know. I don't use dropbox. However, I have noticed that for the last few months it gives a prompt to login if you want to view or download anything via dropbox.

Thank you for sharing the photos. Going off of what I see it's not the actual object that is off center it's the light source. That could be caused by a lighting mod. Though I am not sure as I don't use them and never have.

I jumped in-game to see if I could help troubleshoot. Here's a photo from my current game. The light source seems to be okay.

So something is definitely not quite right in your game. Something to try is doing a factory reset, take the family/house into a new test game without mods and/or custom content to see if that helps.

Right so I did the reset and started a new mod free game, even a different town. Still get this:

Not sure if it's a core game installation bug or a setting deep in the configuration files in some expansion pack but it still does it.

It looks better than it was before. However I don't think this is really a technical issue. In that I don't think an uninstall/reinstall would help. But if that's what you want to try go ahead. :)

It may just be a gameplay bug. Hopefully it's not messing up the game itself in the way it loads up and plays? If it is, then yes definitely uninstall/reinstall. But if it's more of an annoyance. Then there may not be much that can be done about it.

Hmm.. An idea just came to mind - Wonder if it has anything to do with the in-game options? I've got my settings on mostly medium settings. Have you tried different graphic settings to see if that might help?

I have tried different settings and it doesn't seem to change. It doesn't mess up the game at all game-play wise, it's just annoying to look at (might cause lag but not 100% sure.) The part I don't get is that it just started doing it all of a sudden. I've been playing with the same mods for a year now. Maybe I'll look at my graphics card settings for the game and see if there's anything that might cause it.

If you feel that this glitch maybe caused by mods and you get most of your mods say from Nraas, you can ask over there if they have any troubleshooting tips. http://nraas.wikispaces.com/page/messages/Chatterbox

I've tried to search this issue out and am not finding much on it unfortunately.

If you do find a solution, please post about it?

Thank you for letting me help troubleshoot with you. :)

Well after some tests and troubleshooting, it is still there. I changed some settings on my graphics card control panel for sims 3, but no use. I loaded up a few old saves and it seems like the lights on those are messed up too. I don't understand why it's just the outdoor lights. I can't seem to find a solution.

When I get all my sims games on my desktop again I will try again with new and then the same save.

I'll post back if I find anything new.
