Stuck in Culinary Career

I've just stated playing TS4 after taking a summer break . My sim is in the Culinary Career but is stuck as a line cook for several sims weeks . I do all her daily tasks plus make sure that she goes to work inspired but still doesn't get a promotion . I'm sure I'm missing something but really can't figure it out . Any help would greatly be appreciated .

There has been various reports of sims getting stuck in the culinary career. I suggest that you cheat your sim to the next level as that seems to stop this from happening.

@Joria  was it your sim that was stuck in the culinary career? If so can you remember what you did to fix it?

Thanks so much for your reply and suggestion . I will do this next time in game . I was in a big panic as my sim is only a few days from becoming an elder . She might not be able to complete her career . If not , I will try again with a new sims .

The way I look at it is if everything is done and the progress bar is filled then your sim has earned the promotion. Same with aspiration glitches... I cheat those too when they get stuck. Usually the following stages complete as normal.

I've played all afternoon and she never got an other promotion . How often do they normally get one if everything is done ?

If you have get together, you could create a "work homework club" for your Sim.  If she is able to accrue 500 points, then, you can click on "networked club" in the perks list, which promotes your Sim faster.  My main Sim family is in a "work homework club," and I think they get promoted every 2 Sim days. 

There are other "perks," such as "skill boosts," so cooking is included in that section of the perks list. 

Before I got Get Together, they always did their work homework and went to work focused (the ideal mood for tech gurus) , and I think, it took them between 5 and 7 Sim days to get a promotion.  My Sims are at the top of their careers (tech gurus) , so maybe that enables them to receive promotions faster, as well.

Ladybug, you might want to have aging off for a little bit so that your sim can top her career. Even if this is for a challenge, the fault lies w/the game itself and not w/you.

She's almost expired . Should've done all this before . I didn't know of the bugs in this career . I will try it with my next sim . Thanks for all your help .

As soon as the progress bar is completely filled they should be promoted. (This will happen even if the daily tasks haven't been completed in the lower stages of the careers but sometimes in the higher stages the daily tasks need to be 100% completed too.)

I'll keep a close eye on the progress bar and see if it works well . I'm about to loose her but will try a new one in this career . It's my favorite one .
