Yep, those are Conner's alright! I'm glad you're reading it, this has been fun to play so far. I thought I lost the files for a little while there though, glad they reappeared when I opened the game back up!
---------------------------------
Constance found out she was pregnant again by her computer, and of course he was out of the house again, working toward his goal of finishing up 35 Investigator cases in his lifetime. That was only part of the reason though, with three kids in the house and more on the way, it was like trying to tiptoe around time bombs for him. Constance loved the kids, he was... well, he was indifferent. Just wait until they were older, he thought to himself, it'll get better.
She took up most of the time on the computer, pumping out book after book in record timing, so he'd had to buy his own computer to work on his case files with. It was something he kind of resented, in a way, but at least they had to money to fun another top of the line computer and desk for himself, just outside of their bedroom.
The twins became toddlers much too quickly, they were much too mobile for Avery to be comfortable with at the moment, so he used his time wisely and stayed out of the house. Constance was beginning to resent him, just a little bit, while he got to go out and ignore the children, she was stuck in the house with all three of them, plus the pregnancy, and she barely had time to work on her newest book with all the teaching she had to do!
Mister Perfect, as Constance was starting to call him, even though he could still be romantic with her (how else had he managed to talk her into having so many children?), had become a top Investigator in town and was now spending more time in the house now that his cases had dried up a little bit. He was miserable in the house, but she managed to talk him into working with the kids a little. Avery preferred to stay on his own though, and barely gave his wife any help with the new set of twins, Brandon and Brenda. He'd been excited about them, they were both born with orange skin, like him, but Brandon had tufts of blond hair popping out of his head, and Brenda's was brown, nothing like his.
Avery spent most of his time at his chess table, working toward raises for himself so he could earn a little more money every week. They were bringing in quite a bit from Constance's books, it was their main source of income, but he still preferred to think that his was the more important job. All she did was write pretty words in various orders and call it a day, he made a difference out in the world.
Constance just sighed, she could do this on her own, she knew her husband thought his job was important. She could handle the kids on her own, it wasn't like she hadn't been on her own before she had met him, now she had the kids though, and none of them were the heir he was looking for. They would have to keep trying no matter what, but at least she had known what she was getting into when they had met.
She did manage to talk Avery into tutoring their oldest child, and hoped she could convince him to tutor all the others as well so they could grow up well and get out of the house. That was the ringer that did him in, he was all for getting the kids out of the house as soon as they possibly could.
