The Sims 3 stops working when clicking on City Hall
« on: July 10, 2016, 09:34:11 PM »
For some reason, my game crashes when I click on the city hall.  I had no changes in that play session, and I was able to click it without the fear of crashing.  Now, that just crashes my game and I made no changes during that session.  I cannot use the Crash Log Analyzer because it says the skuversion.txt for The Sims 3 Supernatural is missing or corrupt.  I checked the folder for Supernatural, and there was no skuversion.txt file in there.  Could someone help me?  By the way, my save for the world is only 50MB.  I have four worlds linked to the save, mostly for relationship purposes.  Also, on a side note, whenever a sim pee's them self, they will proceed to pee them self two to six times afterward.  :-\

I'm not sure why it's doing that. First thing that comes to mind is have you tried a factory reset to see if that helps the situation.

I'm also added a couple of tip posts just in case you want to read on them or if the factory reset doesn't work.

Could you put my crash report into the Crash Log Analyzer, because mine doesn't work.  I think it is a problem having to do with Map Mode in general.  I went to a previous save, then just a few minutes ago, the map mode music stuttered, then stopped, and then crashed.  This is how the other save went.  I can't use CLA, because apparently, The Sims 3 Supernatural has a missing or corrupt skuversion.txt.  I tried adding my expansions, base game, and the launcher to the DEP.  That still didn't work.  Throughout the entire save that I played, nothing happened until 1:30 PM sim time on Monday.  I also restarted my PC, deleted my caches, and I know you'll hate my guts, but I have integrated Intel HD Graphics (Celeron), but I can't afford a new computer, and I can't upgrade, because this is a laptop.  I have a constant problem with proprietors having routing problems in Angel City, even though there isn't anything in their way.  They can't even be reset, and the world has no other routing problems besides proprietors.  This is getting quite frustrating, and I still haven't installed any new mods, although I installed new Sims3Packs, although the save loaded fine and ran for around 6 hours.  The only programs I had open were Origin (because I installed it when 1.69 was forced) and The Sims 3.  Also, I'm running the game in windowed mode.  I attached my crash reports and my DxDiag in the zip.

Crash Log Analyzer is telling us that the problems are: insufficient graphics capability and that the game needs to be added to the DEP

Add Sims 3 and Expansions to the Data Execution Prevention (DEP)

I would also suggest not running the game for more than a couple/few hours at a time. As you can damage your computer that way by making it overheat. If you haven't done so, run the game with lowest settings.

Since you are playing on a laptop, it's a good idea to get a cooling mat as well.

Cooltek Angle Adjustable Ultra-thin Laptop Cooling Pad = Sale: $20.75

A cooling mat will help keep the laptop cooler, but may not prevent it from fully overheating during long game sessions.

Some things look messed up when on low texture detail. A CC bed's blankets fly up from the bed, Fresh Prince cars become mangled triangular messes that vaguely resemble a car, and a CC hamper is half full when it is on the empty GEOM state.
