fixed, I think...
ok, this may not work for everyone. granted, I know about cleaning out the computer case, checking for background apps running, and in my case I believe those were not issues. A. I thoroughly cleaned out the inside of my case just today, and B. I am already looking at what is actually running in the background. Mainly Windows processes, antivirus, java updater, and normal stuff like that.
so what did I do. right now the Sims 4 game download is running in Origin as I write this post. My cpu is not freaking out, it is hanging out at 47-50C. I looked at the Help webpage in the Origin app. It mentioned that for installing games, the antivirus program can interfere or block the download or install process. hmm. ok. so I went into my Avast interface, in the advanced settings I made scanning exceptions for the program CD in the CD drive as well as the Origin folders installed on my hard drive already. Then I thought, aw shucks, let's just temporarily disable Avast. So, slid all of the active protection sliders over to off until reboot. closed the Avast, went over and resumed my paused game download.
It's going. Slowly, but the reason for me is, I am on wifi at home on our 5mbps connection. No way to physically plug in to the router due to no room to set up computer in the same room... yeah I need to clean out my office. So, it's going, it's not going to fry my computer, I'm just going to go do something else for a couple of hours.

sorry, forgot this part, it may help someone else. In Origin, I went over to the Origin settings page just to look at whether I had missed anything that may have been causing trouble. Now please explain this next part to me. I noticed that as I am downloading the game over on the My Games page, I cannot just leave it on My Games: yes, crazy overheating begins to ramp up, even with the changes to the Antivirus detailed already in place. Nope. But. If I just click back over on the settings page, and yes, the download is still going, my cpu and hdd are showing temps in the 47 to 50C range. Small little fluctuations that self-correct and remain stable. --shrug--

Now I am praying that running the Sims 4 game won't cause massive overheating... but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
Thanks peeps
