I crack up every time my Sim makes supernovium because she always says, "awwwsome".  A word that caught on even with Sims.

When mom/dad/sibling is trying to teach a toddler to talk I crank up the sound.  I am determined to perfect my Simlish.  lol  *waves hand and says su-su*

I think if you type the cheat code "englishspeakingsim" they will speak English. I'm not sure though. I hope this works for other people! :)
