Cannot Have Romance with Sim (male and female)

Yes I know there's a mod for both genders, but it doesn't work for me (because of conflict in game).

I have a female sim that I'm trying to pair with an adult default male sim (he doesn't have a home in the world) but there's no pink bar or anything. Romantic actions doesn't work at all. They're good friends already! What should I do. I know that I can try finding another guy but why can't I pair them?

Welcome to the forum ax_colleen, are the sims both young adults/adults or both teens? If one sim is a young adult/adult and the other is a teen then no romance options will be available.

Yes they're not teens. My female sim was a young adult and the male sim is an adult. I tried starting them off with confess attraction but it didn't work. Now my female sim became an adult but it still didn't work. I know that even though they're not close friends you can still have romance with them. The male sim is single. I tried to do that again with another young adult single sim but it didn't work. I don't know what to do :< no romance bar

Hello ax_colleen, you need to do several romance interactions before you'll see the bar.  I'd start out with a couple flirts, and some compliments, then trying some of the other ones.

Try getting them both flirty. One way to do that is get your own sim flirty (steamy shower) then have your sim click on the oven/fridge and bake 'flirty cookies'. Invite the target sim over and then 'call to meal' by clicking on the plate of flirty cookies. Once  both sims are flirty start flirting and complimenting. If the other sim seems to like it keep flirting but don't 'confess attraction' until the romance bar is at least 1/2 filled as this can make the target sim not like your sim.
Give rose, hold hands, blow kiss etc are better to use once they become available but until they do just do a round of flirt/compliment/ask about day/flirt/compliment/tell joke/flirt... and so on. The romance bar should start to build fairly quickly.
