Sims can catch on fire while using the DJ booth. I haven't tested enough to see if it's random or if certain conditions make it more or less likely. My Sim was using the cheap DJ booth while inspired, and she was at about 7 in the skill. Her needs were reasonably high. She extinguished herself with the normal tense moodlets resulting. The booth was not damaged or destroyed in the process. It needs more testing. This is just a preliminary informational post.

I've had several fires with the DJ booth. It's even mentioned in Carl's guide to DJ Mixing under the upgrade options he has the Advanced Heat Sink upgrade as a required upgrade to prevent all the fires.

Advanced Heat Sink - Required! The advanced heat sink will prevent fires. These occur regularly enough that I recommend you do this as soon as you get the upgrade option.

I was hoping this would happen at a lower level of skill, could have been an easy way to kill off sims however I've only experienced a fire at L5 skill or higher. I'm still thinking it is possible at a lower skill level, just haven't seen that yet.

I knew this could happen, but after playng three weeks this game (and I am ALWAYS DJ!), never happened. I'm kindda happy about that

if you buy the most expensive dj booth, it came with most of the upgrade already on the machine including Advanced Heat Sink

Maybe at higher level your sims scratch so much faster that it causes flames B-) and that's why low skill doesn't do it lol just saying ;-)
