Dead Band Member
« on: November 20, 2010, 10:30:44 AM »
My second band in the Clan Douglas Dynasty has 3 living members.  Radar, the twin who died several game weeks ago, is still shown as a member of the band.  I'd like to have my Generation 8 drummer join the band but he can't because the band is shown as being full.  Perhaps I could have them dig up Radar's grave and put his urn back on the lot, then when his ghost turns up, someone could ask him to leave the band.  But I'd rather not do that because I had such a hard time getting him back into the urn last time he was out and about.  Anyone have any other ideas about how to deal with this?

Uhm, let's see. You want to have someone in your band which you can't because your band is full, but one member has died and still take up a place in the list? That's odd I must say, although I have no experience with creating a band yet. Maybe Metro knows.
But also maybe you could bring the boy back to life and then ask him to get him out of the band. If you don't want to do that, because than the boy is back into your family again, you may consider putting the urn indeed on your lot and wait till the night comes up and he is willing to hount.
My generation has also a lot of ghosts that came out at night to play videogames on the tv or on the laptop that they take into their graves with them. Litteraly.
Maybe that is what tract ghost to hount your house: electronic play-things. You could try that.

Thanks for the suggestions, Leto.  I can't bring Radar back to life because it's against the Immortal Dynasty rules.  And I am hesitating about putting his urn on the lot because last time it was there, he wouldn't return to it.  He spent several days out and about.  I quite liked seeing him there, but he kept waking people up at night, which got to be a nuisance.

Schipperke,

You should be able to get Radar back into his urn by resetting him.  It works every time for me.

Radar is now in the family plot, where he intends to rest, I hope.  I just solved the band issue by having one of the band members quit (which caused a certain bad feeling, but oh well) and then start a new band and invite the other two remaining band members to join.  It does seem odd, though, that someone who is dead would still be listed as a band member.

Maybe they can play on as a ghost, the game might not outrule them then, perhaps you should ask the ghost when appearing to quit the band next time.

Exactly what I was thinking Sara.
You could also try the option to move in with you Schipperke. That way the ghost becomes a family member once again. I hope that isn't against the Immortal Dynasty rules either (because the ghost remains a ghost), but otherwise I don't think I have any option left.

I did wonder if Radar's ghost would turn up for gigs, and finally got my answer.  The band got a gig, but Radar didn't come and the others wouldn't play - I guess they were waiting for him.  The odd thing about this is that Millie's husband Jerry was also a member of the band, but when he died he no longer showed as a member.  I can't remember which one of the group started the band, but maybe the reason Radar was still shown as a member was because he started the band.  It would have been fun to keep Radar in the band, but I wanted Generation 8 to be able to join, and when Radar was loose on the lot, he kept waking people up at night.
