I agree.  I think it is kind of neat in a way and eerie at the same time, especially if the sim that was taken was a youth and then turned up in the neighborhood at a later time.  Since you had played that sim, it would seem strange to see that sim wandering the street or in school.  That only happened to me the one time in the sims2, wasn't sure if it happened in sims3. :)

I made an elder sim who's going to adopt five kids in her lifetime, and I've noticed something odd. All of her kids have had dark skin, and all but one have had black hair. Is it just random?

I've always thought it was random.  No reason for it to be otherwise, that I can see.

I was only warned once that the social worker would take away my vampire baby if I didn't take care of her.  :( Her stats were NOT that low, too.

I adopted once, and I strangely got a dark skinned child too. I didn't think anything of it, but...That is pretty unusual. Now I wanna see what I get.

I once read a legacy blog...

Can you PM me a link, Malty?  :) It sounds like a good read, and I just blew through Alice and Kev. That was such a sad blog.

I had an odd adoption, the child that my sim adopted turned out to be the child of her current love interest ( who was apparently a commitment phobe as he was always making excuses why he couldn't come round) by another woman! Coincidence or what.

I once read a legacy blog where a glitch in the gameplay caused social services to make an appearance. Basically the dad (founding dad) was sat down teaching the kid (can't remember exactly what) and the game glitched causeing the dad and toddler to be stuck where they were. Apparently even resetsims cheat did not work. So obviously the kid got hungry stuck there until eventually social services came. The cool bit was the blog author worked the glitch into her story, saying that the dad got depressed, and started loosing his mind, becoming irrational, etc, until social services came. Fast forward a few sim weeks later, and one of the other kids - a teen - asked if a friend from school could come over, and guess who it was. Yup, the toddler that was taken away from social services, all grown up into a teen.
Can you PM me with the name too? I love reading legacies, and it sounds interesting. :)

How did you know it was her love interest's child? Did the child remember who it's original parents were, and show them on the family tree? Because whether that's possible is what I started this whole thread to find out really.

To simstar and TollingBells - I'm so sorry I only saw your requests now. I'm at work at the moment, but when I get home I'll hunt down the link to the blog.

To answer pallyndrome the man was listed as father in the child's list of friends.
