I have a big problem with my game. One day I noticed that my sims gain skills much slower than they should. I began testing it out with new saves in different neighbourhoods and
it takes every sim about 4-6 hours (sim time) to gain the first skill level with any skill even though they're in a good mood. The second point takes even longer (so it's not just the first that's bugged). I've tried several different skills using their bookshelf and the mirror. We can agree that that is way too long, right?
I only have the base game and Late Night installed. I even uninstalled them completely (also removing their registry files) and deleted the Electronic Arts folder to fix it. No luck. I've never used mods and I didn't include any CC upon reinstalling the games. I downloaded and installed the games from Origin this time around and I've used 'repair game'. Yet I still have the problem and it drives me mad.
I basically have the same problem as
this person, but I can't know if/how they got it fixed.
How can the game be ruined when I completely reinstalled it? I made sure that all the Sims 3 files were gone before reinstalling. Please, if anyone has any ideas how to fix it I'll be glad to hear them.
Edit: I just had a sim read her way up to level 1 in cooking. Then I made her cook and she progressed very fast from there. Maybe it is a reading problem in the new install? The sims progress very slowly when reading (and using the mirror). Will do further tests but please give input if you have any.
