[BUG] Camera disappearing

I've been experimenting with the photography skill, but I've had two cameras just disappear on me!

It was as I was going to take another set of photos, so the hand grabber grabs it, then poof, it just disappears.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I checked both my sims inventories and the household inventory but they have just disappeared into thin air it seems.

The camera was the most expensive one if it helps.

Not come across this, I only use the phone camera for photography. 

Some thoughts though, do you have any mods or cc?  Could it have got 'stuck' in/under a piece of furniture, wall or floor?  Have you checked the Answers EA bug list in case anyone else has reported the problem?

Hope somebody can help you find a solution.

I don't use mods or cc.

I can't see that they are anywhere or stuck. They just kind of disappeared....

I will have a look if it's a known bug.

I had a look on the Bug thread and couldn't find anything. Not to say it's not there... just I couldn't find anything. It seems as a lot of the bugs are being archived and there are lists everywhere. I found it all a bit confusing.

I haven't had this issue and can't think of anything similar. Have you done the 'usual' of traveling with your sim to see if the camera appears in the personal inventory?

I've just put a bug report in.

Playalot, I have just gone to the gym in the game, will take a look when I next play.

I just had this happen! So frustrating since that camera is expensive.

Edit: When you are clicking on the camera to take pictures and the hand picks up the camera instead, that's when it disappears. Hitting "escape" drops it back into the Sim's inventory. It also wipes out the queue, but it does seem to save the camera.

I've had objects, usually collectibles, glitch out, but normally they will reappear if you go to map screen and back. Sometimes the cursor itself will glitch out. In that case it is best just to reload the game. I've also seen object get "hidden" in the floor. The object is "there" but not visible graphically. I think they are doing a good job of bug squashing, but there are still many annoying ones. Best option with cameras might be to put them in the Sims personal inventory. I haven't played photography skill though, for the sake of full disclosure.

Just further info, the cameras did not appear after travelling for me.

Plus originally the camera was in the personal inventory, I was just clicking on the camera to use it.

@ Tigerskin, I have had the camera disappear like you described. I did the Satisfaction Guaranteed challenge and Eliza Pancakes took a lot of photos for her aspiration. I think I lost at least three cameras and I could never find them anywhere. It was so annoying, but luckily you can make so much money by photography that it was easy to replace the cameras.

@Tipi I never made any money with the camera really, photos were 30 simoleons at best. As was using the most expensive camera and lost two (maybe three) I ended up being down!

Got fed up of that and gave up photography then

If you want to raise your photography skill you can use your phone to take pictures. It'll only take small photos but your sim already has a phone so there's nothing to buy and it wont disappear on you.

@grimsoul I hadn't thought of that at the time. By the time I had realised, I was so annoyed with photography I couldn't be bothered!

Photography is a lot of faffing about...
