ADVENTURE France secret garden

 I have got half way through this adventure, I have got the pomegranates given them to Monsieur Duteil and was asked to go back and speak to the apparition, but the family are not there! I cannot gain access without the presence of at least one member of the family. The gold star is there but the family name is grayed out. My sim went home completed adventures in China came back to finish the Vaughan adventure, still no family. I have all patches and no CC, anyone any ideas? Until I complete it I cannot get any more adventures. Any help gratefully received.

I'm not sure how you can get access to the house but if you go to your opportunities tab and right click on the little Eiffel tower you can cancel the mission and free yourself up to do more adventures in France. The pomegranate opportunity might pop up again, they usually do.

chrissie, house is not empty, just family is not there? Try cheking merchants, they never go home, but option should appeare when clicking on Sim even if star is not there. Also, make shore you check if someone is there at night, around 22.00 or later. Can you sneak in?
You can always cancel adventure by right clicking on it, just as you cancel regular opps.

This happened to me with an adventure in Egypt.  The residents of the house were merchants and, as Anushka said, they never went home.  I finally went in to Edit Town and moved some other people in to the house so I could gain access.

Thanks for your help everyone, the family run the Nectary, I'll try it again from there and cancel if no luck. I tried sneaking in, by the way, but I couldn't get access.

The Dutiel family are a pain on this one ... I can't remember when they go out, but they don't come home until 2200.  They got their pomegranates when we played yesterday, so I know exactly when they return home!

Tip ... when you go to France, keep checking that pomegranate tree to see if it has become harvestable, and grab them whenever you can!  You can always eat the surplus later!!

Thanks slingsby that's exactly what I did. And I'm pleased to say I caught the family in at last and have completed that adventure, back to China now. Thank you to everyone who offered help.
