Keep adjusting on the 'Options' but never changed.

I just installed the 'Late Night' expansion on Win8, I was already so happy when the installing process was finished but the problem came when I tried to play.

my first problem is if I zoom out the city to the max, it's always like this.

I know that my problem will be solved if I change these options, but I faced a new problem. Like what I said on the title, I kept adjusting them but it never changed.  The only one that I can changed was the screen size.  Every time I accepted my desired setting and I re-opened the Options it will be back like what I show you above. Even after restarting the game.

Anyone can help me with this problem?

It sounds like you are having some graphics issues. The 3 troubleshooting tips below should hopefully help with this. Tip 2 is just in case you have a dual graphics card.

so I've updated my graphics card and made sure Nvidia recognized The Sims 3 (yes, my laptop has dual graphics cards).  Not trying to re-install yet.

After trying to troubleshoot my laptop, I tried to open my The Sims 3 again and I found the notification.  It said that the Sims 3 can't recognized my hardware (in this case, my graphics card) so I may have to adjust them manually.  This never happened before (I've played The Sims 3 base game only for 3 months and just installed the Late Night expansion yesterday).

Please help me figure out the solution.

We can help with that. It sounds like that graphic files need to be edited to see your Nvidia graphics card. It may not have been setup correctly for the game to see it. That happens with newer video cards.
