My roof has the word "BAD" written on it...

First time this has ever happened to me, and I can't find any solutions on the web. I was expanding my house, went to add the roof (half gable), and the word "BAD" was typed onto the front where the raw siding is. It took up the space of one grid, hot pink background with white text. The file isn't corrupt, it saves fine. I've closed out and restarted, and it's still there. The word can be painted over, but it's still a little unsettling since I don't know the cause. I currently have pets, seasons, generations, and ambitions installed. Has anyone else had this happen?

Do you play with custom content and/or mods in your game?  If so try turning off the custom content by opening the launcher and going to the Installed Content tab and Checkmark Run without custom content. To remove mods, just move the Mods folder out of the Sims 3 folder to the desktop.

Run the game to see if it's still happening.

If you're using your Sim Household to build the house, try Reset everything via MasterController.
