Hey guys!
So I recently just started back playing the Sims 4 (took a few months off.
) and this is my first post here in a loooong time!
I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) - yes I know this is not an optimal gaming computer...
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
OS version El Capitan 10.11.3
When I first started playing it ran like a dream on medium settings (and I was totally fine with that) with Get to Work, 3 stuff packs and some CC installed. (This comp even played Sims 3 pretty well too)
Recently, when I started the game back up it's choppy, the music goes in and out and tasks go on very slowly.
FPS run about 8-10.
Things I've tried:I've turned off origin in game, have most settings on low (objects and sims on medium), lowered resolution..
I've tried window mode and full screen- no difference
No CC and a few CC- no difference
I actually reinstalled my OS and cleared out a ton of memory
Cleared what cache there was and replaced the Sims 4 folder on several occasions
Reinstalled and repaired game.
The only thing that has happened in the months in between play times is:
I downloaded El Capitan, updated to most recent patches and also bought Get Together expansion.
I have ordered a memory upgrade (from 4gb to 8gb) to see if that will help the situation?
I am assuming its the new OS and the expansion pack that is making it really slow now.
I feel like I've literally tried everything. So if anyone else has any more suggestions, please help a girl out. Ha!
